How the Dota 2 inventory value checker works
Paste the link to your Steam profile, your 17-digit Steam ID or your custom URL name. Our server reads the public Dota 2 inventory from Steam, groups the items by their market name and prices every marketable item: arcanas with our own Steam Community Market price, which refreshes several times a day, everything else with Skinport, using the lowest current listing or, if nothing is listed, the average sale of the last 90 days. Items that cannot be sold, such as Battle Pass rewards still in their trade hold, are listed but not counted. The total is a market value, not cash in hand: Steam keeps 15% of every sale and third-party markets charge a seller fee.
The result shows your arcanas first, matched by name in every quality (Inscribed, Exalted, Corrupted and so on), then every item sorted by value with a link to the market where it is listed, and finally the arcanas you do not own yet, cheapest first. Nothing is stored: your ID, the inventory and the result stay between your browser, our server and Steam, and the item images load through our server so your browser never contacts Steam directly. If the check says the inventory is private, open Steam, go to Edit Profile, Privacy Settings and set Inventory to Public; the change works immediately.
FAQ
How is the inventory value calculated?
Every marketable item is matched by its Steam market name. Arcanas use our own Steam Community Market price (updated several times a day). Everything else uses Skinport: the lowest current listing, or the average sale of the last 90 days when nothing is listed. Items without a price on either market and items that cannot be sold (not marketable) are listed but not counted.
Why is my inventory “private”?
Steam only shows an inventory to others when the inventory privacy is set to Public. Open your Steam profile → Edit Profile → Privacy Settings → Inventory → Public. The change is immediate; run the check again.
Which ID can I use?
Your profile link (steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656… or steamcommunity.com/id/yourname), the 17-digit Steam ID, your custom URL name, or the account id in [U:1:…] form.
Is anything saved?
No. Your ID goes to our server, which reads the public inventory from Steam and returns the priced list to your browser. We do not store inventories or IDs. The item images are loaded through our server, so your browser never talks to Steam directly.
Can I sell for the shown value?
Usually a bit less. Skinport prices are seller prices (buyers pay the listing, sellers receive it minus the Skinport fee); Steam prices are what buyers pay, and Steam keeps 15% of every sale. Treat the total as a market value, not as cash in hand.
